knitting widgets
knitting hypotenuse calculator
Useful when designing sleeve caps and armscyes, and any other time you want to decrease (or increase) X stitches over Y rows and want to know how long the resultant edge will be. Or when you know how long you want the edge to be, and you need to figure out how many rows or stitches you have to play with. Lots of fun.
Go here to use it. Mac OS X Tiger users can download the widget.
what's a widget?
It's a web technology-based mini-application for users of Mac OS X Tiger. It functions like a web page, but it resides in the library of the Mac operating system and shows up only when the Dashboard is invoked. Basically, it's a handy way for a Mac user to have access to nifty little tools without having to launch a browser and ask, "did I remember to bookmark that page?"
Any tool listed above with a widget icon is available as a widget for you to download. If you're not running Tiger, you can't use the widget. But the same tool is available for you to use on this website. You might want to remember to bookmark it.
